A very happy new year to you!! I had been thinking of sharing my learnings at IIM with the outside world for the last few days. The idea came to me while having an evening walk in the IIM-K campus during my end-term exams a couple of weeks back. Even discussed the idea with a couple of 'non-MBA' friends and they were really interested in knowing what one learns in an IIM.
Before I started MBA, I always used to wonder whether an MBA will be useful to me or not. And most of the advice which I got was highly subjective - "it is bull***t","it is useful" and suchlike when an objective and as-it-is kind of description would have helped me much more. After all, most of us are intelligent enough to decide whether something makes sense for us or not if we are presented with all the relevant facts.
My main objective behind starting this blog is to give an unbiased and as-it-is kind of a view of what one learns at IIM. I will post what I learn in classrooms, in guest-lectures/workshops, in projects or simply while reading books and magazines in the library. And I will post as soon as I have enough new material to create a meaningful and insightful post.
I'm sure that by the time this blog is a few months old, it will have enough meat for an MBA aspirant to read through and get a fair idea of what a B-school education and experience teaches you.
